If you answer yes to these questions, then Wakefield Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is the place for you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Health Care Support Worker to join our CAMHS Eating Disorder team. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering interventions and assessments to children, young people and their families who are presenting with an Eating Disorder. This role will also include outreach to young people and their families, providing intensive support where required to meet identified need, contributing to the prevention of admission to inpatient provision and also the facilitation of timely discharge from inpatient provision.

You will work closely with the registered Health Care Practitioners in the team, providing high quality care appropriate to the young person’s needs. You will be required to work with families and young people at times of distress therefore excellent communication and engagement skills are essential. You will need to develop good working relationships with key professionals across the district; to enable holistic care packages to be delivered to the young people and families.

In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme, regular clinical and management supervision and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

The post will be based at Airedale Health Centre, Castleford. You will be required to demonstrate a flexible approach to travel as you will be required to see young people in different community settings across the Wakefield District as well as CAMHS bases in Wakefield, Pontefract and Castleford.
