Excellent rates of pay – if you are new to care you could earn up to £10,125 a year working weekends, plus optional paid overtime. This rises with experience and qualifications, which we will support you to achieve. Our Senior Carers earn up to £12,700 a year working weekends, plus optional paid overtime.

Location: Ashview Nursing Home, Ware Road, Widford, Nr. Ware, Herts, SG12 8RQ

Salary: £8.85 to £11.10 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: 8am – 8pm or 8pm – 8am Saturdays and Sundays. Full-time hours also available, as well as optional paid overtime.

Shifts: Flexible shifts (day and night, Saturdays and Sundays)

We are currently recruiting for Weekend Care Assistants to support our elderly residents to lead their lives according to their preferences and physical and emotional needs.

Ashview Nursing Home is a 32 bedded care home where we support elderly residents with a variety of care needs, including basic or complex nursing needs and also palliative care. It is a delightfully picturesque home situated on the outskirts of the village of Widford, between Much Hadham and Ware.

The Role:

You will work in a team and build relationships with our elderly residents who you will support with their daily activities. You will not just be a carer, but you will be a friend who our residents can rely on to champion their dignity, independence and support them to live happy and healthy lives.

Every day will bring variety, whether you are assisting a resident to wash and dress in the morning, developing their individual care plan, or helping them choose and eat their favourite meal. You will be expected to think on your feet, communicate effectively, take on responsibility, prioritise your work load and keep accurate records. We will give you ongoing support, supervision and training to ensure that you can perform to the best of your ability and progress your career.

  • Previous experience of working with the elderly is desirable
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ in Health & Social Care are desirable but not essential
