An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 6 Registered Nurse within the Community Children’s Nursing Team. We are looking for a motivated and innovative nurse with extensive experience of working with children, ideally in the community setting. You will be able to demonstrate excellent team-working, assessment, communication and leadership skills. The post holder is required to line manage staff, and have a wide clinical skill base and a thorough understanding of safeguarding.

The post holder will work to deliver high quality nursing care to children and young people from birth to 18 years with acute and complex nursing needs, within their own homes and other community settings across Oxfordshire. You will have the opportunity to further develop skills in caring for children with palliative care needs and support those at end of life. You will be required to work autonomously to manage a caseload of patients and work as a team in partnership with other professionals across Health, Social Care and Education.

The successful applicant will be working in a proactive and forward thinking team which regularly welcomes student children’s nurses. This post would be suitable for an experienced nurse with a thorough understanding of the Children’s community nursing role.

The Children’s and Young People Directorate was recently given a CQC rating of “outstanding”.
