We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking band 6 senior nurse to provide Maternity cover until April 2020. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in women’s health, and seeks to provide the highest quality of nursing care to patients within our gynaecology day assessment unit (GDAU) based at Watford General in line with our Trust vision.

Working alongside the early pregnancy ultrasound unit (EPU),as part of a small, specialised nursing team, the candidate will work in assisting the gynaecology doctors to provide compassionate care for patients presenting with a range of emergency gynaecological and early pregnancy issues.

The role will involve supervising junior colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the unit, arranging ultrasound assessments as required, undertaking blood tests, and assessing results and patients to provide individualised plans of care. Working in a highly emotional environment and often dealing with patients who are often distressed, the candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, whilst maintaining an empathetic and professional approach, with experience in working in Gynaecology or Women’s health.
