We have exciting opportunities for motivated occupational therapists who are enthusiastic about stroke rehabilitation to join our supportive and dynamic community stroke team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience or develop existing knowledge and skills in Neurological therapy in a dynamic and innovative, specialist service.

Stroke services in Leeds are working together to develop new and exciting career opportunities including rotations across acute stroke, stroke rehabilitation and community stroke rehabilitation and joint supervision and training sessions across acute and community trusts.Services are moving to a more integrated approach to patient care to support facilitation of early discharge, extended episode of community rehabilitation (up to 12 weeks), reduction in onward referrals and joint working with care providers.

Roles will require staff to work out of hours including on-call rotas ( acute setting only) and weekend working.

A band 5 Occupational Therapist - fixed term 12 months

About you
You must be a registered Occupational Therapist with a commitment to high quality patient care along with excellent clinical skills and relevant experience. It is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

What will you do?
The Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team comprises of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians, technical instructors, rehabilitation assistants, nurse and psychologist. The service provides goal focused, time limited rehabilitation interventions in patient's home environments and in other settings as appropriate. As the post holder, you will be carrying out holistic multidisciplinary assessments and occupational therapy assessment and treatment interventi ons to patients in a variety of community settings. You will also work in an integrated way with colleagues from within the Neighbourhood Teams, the local acute trust, reablement and social care. It's our priority to continue delivering the high quality stroke care. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced staff who can help you develop your knowledge, skills and experience.
