Non-Executive Director

Remuneration - £12,504 per annum

Humber is really going places! From the bustling city of Hull, that has seen huge investment in recent years, to thriving market towns, traditional seaside towns and Yorkshire villages surrounded by rolling countryside.

We have been going through exciting change and the pace continues. Rated Good by the CQC, we’ve reshaped the organisation, introduced our PROUD Organisational Development programme and put a renewed focus on quality improvement, clinical governance and safety.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and committed Non-Executive Director to join our Trust Board.

As a multi-speciality health and social care teaching provider, we provide a wide range of services including, community and inpatient mental health services, learning disability services, community services, healthy lifestyle support and addictions services and a growing number of primary care services in Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire, Scarborough and Ryedale and the Whitby area, employing approximately 2,500 staff across over 120 sites. As a teaching trust, we work closely with our major academic partners, nurturing a workforce of tomorrow’s health professionals.

Our people are some of the very best – we need to lead them effectively and help them achieve safe, high quality care, despite testing financial times. This is an opportunity to play a key role on the Board of a large, complex, vibrant and exciting foundation trust.

The successful candidate will be committed to the needs of patients, service users, carers and the surrounding community and to continuing to improve the quality of the services that we provide.

The successful candidate will also be someone who has experience of working at Board level or equivalent, in a large, complex organisation and ideally will have experience of working in human resources and/or organisational development, or working in the third sector, or in communications and marketing.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all and appointments made on merit. We believe that the best boards are those that reflect the communities they serve.

We particularly encourage applications from those people who we know are under-represented in chair and non-executive roles. We aim to reflect in the composition of our board the communities of the patients that we serve.

For an informal discussion please contact Sharon Mays, Chair on 01482 389132 or 01482 389194

Closing date for this role is 12pm on 31 May 2019

Interviews will be held on 21 June 2019

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
