NHS Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (Somerset CCG) is looking to recruit a Band 7 Primary Care and Care Homes Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to join the Quality and Nursing directorate.

This post is designed to support the Lead Infection Prevention and Control Nurse. You will primarily be based at the CCG’s Headquarters, with some travel to provider trusts, primary care settings and care Homes.

Reporting to the Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), you will work both autonomously; and as part of the Infection Prevention and Control team, striving to minimise risk from Healthcare associated Infection (HCAI).

You will support, develop and implement systems to improve the quality of IPC management, by delivery of national directives to develop local quality, patient safety and safe systems. You must have good organisational skills and the ability to influence others.

You will need to be self-motivated and have a flexible approach to work, acting as a role model across disciplines.

You will also have excellent organisational skills and a sound, working knowledge of MS office packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Excel etc., alongside excellent communication skills both written, face-to-face and over the telephone.

This post is based at NHS Somerset CCG HQ - Wynford House, Lufton Way, Yeovil, Somerset, BA22 8HR. However, elements of the role may require you to travel to other locations across the county of Somerset to meet the needs of the service.

This is a permanent, full-time post of 37.5 hours per week. Job Share and Secondment opportunities will be considered.
