Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for two Deputy Chief Nurses to join and enhance our senior leadership team.

As one of two Deputy Chief Nurse opportunities, you will lead on driving the Governance and Risk and Workforce and Education agendas Trust wide, across two sites.

You will play an active role in determining and implementing corporate strategies and business plans supporting and reflecting the Trust’s objectives. We are looking for a leader who is committed to the quality and safety agenda, ensuring it is executed well and becomes everyone's business.

The candidate will be an experienced nurse and have a proven track record of delivery. You will have novel ideas around developing the workforce and experience in implementing a sustainable model to provide safe effective and person centred care that meets the CQC fundamental standards. You will also lead on promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement.

We are looking for someone who currently or very recently has worked in an acute Trust and has credibility to work clinically alongside the frontline staff. You will have excellent communication skills along with visible, dynamic and inspirational leadership, enabling the nursing, AHP and midwifery workforce to deliver safe and high quality standards of care.

Whilst you will have significant leadership experience, ideally in a deputy role elsewhere, we recognise this may constitute an opportunity for an ambitious and skilled senior nurse who is ready to step up into their first Deputy Chief Nurse post.
