We want you to become part of Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust’s developing and creative workforce as a Trainee Nursing Associate.

As part of a joint partnership within Norfolk and Waveney this two year programme supported by an approved education provider, will commence in September 19. This will offer suitable candidates the opportunity to gain employment whilst combining integrated academic learning opportunities at Level 5, and undertaking various work based placement experiences. Successful completion of the programme will lead to registration as a Nurse Associate with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and guaranteed employment as a Band 4 Nurse Associate within the trust subject to successful completion of the course and satisfactory conduct.


We are looking for committed, caring and dedicated individuals who are willing to commit to the training programme and make a difference to clinical care and support the future NHS workforce. Your starting salary will be at a Band 3 for the period of the course. NCHC have a dedicated Talent for Care team and Clinical Education facilitators to support and guide successful applicants through this pathway. We additionally offer 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays and an NHS benefits scheme.


The Academic requirements to commence include:- GCSE’s Grades A-C/4-9 in English and Maths or have completed Key Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English; demonstrate an ability to study at Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education Level - be computer literate with the ability to undertake online learning activities; and be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the health needs of others.

Further eligibility criteria include:- you will need to be aged 18 or over; have resided in the UK for the last 3 years; and have recent care experience. You will be required to travel to placement areas, so a driving license is essential.


We have multiple posts available across our 4 localities, North, West, Norwich and South therefore please only apply for one post, this being the one closest to your home so that we can offer you a local interview if you are successfully shortlisted


Applicants will need to be committed to undertaking regular academic study over the length of the programme, commencing with a care certificate and undertaking an apprenticeship ‘end point assessment’ on completion of the study.
