An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infection, Prevention and Control (IP&C) Team as a Senior IP&C nurse at this large foundation NHS Trust.

** We are offering up to £8,000 in relocation expenses **

You will be joining a supportive team who value the contributions of each team member to help deliver our overall aims and objectives in line with the Trust vision “to provide every patient with the care we want for those we love the most”, specifically by reducing the risks of healthcare associated infections. The team has a highly visible role working in all areas throughout the NNUH and comprises of IP&C nurses, Infection Control Doctor, Director of IP&C, support workers and administrative staff. We welcome and encourage innovative ideas and the team is comprised of individuals from a range of clinical backgrounds and experience which proves a great asset as we continually review our practice and interventions.

The senior nurse is responsible with other members of the Infection, Prevention & Control [IP&C] team in preventing and controlling infection primarily in an acute hospital setting, but also impacting on the wider healthcare community. This includes investigating, monitoring and raising awareness in the prevention, surveillance, investigation, management and control and control of healthcare associated infections.

Responsible for providing day-to-day management of the nursing & administrative staff in the IP&C team. To deputise for the lead nurse as required.

As a member of the Infection Control Team the post holder will maintain effective and efficient communication networks with internal and external agencies. Interacting with both clinical and non-clinical disciplines and other organisations responsible for healthcare provision.

As post holder, you will provide support, leadership, training and education within the IP&C team and NNUH for both clinical and management staff. Our priority is to prevent and control infections primarily in an acute hospital setting, but also impacting on the wider healthcare community. We achieve this by building effective relationships, communicating well, and promoting high standards of IP&C practice for the safety of patients, staff and visitors.

Through the on-call service IP&C you will be required to work nights, weekend and bank holidays as part of the on-call rota, covering the NNUH. There will be a period of training prior to this.
