Are you an ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse looking for a new challenge in anaesthetic support? As a world leader in healthcare and research we have built something amazing –  Alder Hey in the park, a hospital for children, designed and inspired by children. Along with a radical and ambitious vision, the Children’s Health Park is the future design of paediatric care and there’s nothing like it anywhere in Europe.

We have already earned our place as one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals, thanks to innovation and pioneering medical work. We treat over 250,000 young patients a year and safely perform over 13,000 surgical procedures. Our catchment area has a population of over 7m, stretching from Cumbria, through Lancashire, Merseyside, most of Cheshire, parts of Shropshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

Children from virtually every part of the UK, and also from around the world, visit Alder Hey for specialist treatment.  As a result, we are recognised as Centre of Excellence for children with cancer, heart, spinal and brain disease and have been designated as a national centre for craniofacial surgery and epilepsy surgery by the Department of Health.

With a world class £237 million facility that opened in October 2015 we are now looking to further expand our dedicated anaesthetic support team by recruiting motivated, dynamic anaesthetic practitioners who are committed to delivering excellent patient care.. As the only hospital in the region that performs all surgical specialities this is a fantastic opportunity for an ODP or anaesthetic Nurse to expand their existing skills and knowledge not only in paediatrics but also a diverse and challenging range of specialities

As a department we focus on patient safety, excellence and staff well-being so we are looking for individuals who have these values at the heart of all they do. In return we offer a clearly defined training and development package which includes a four week supernumerary preceptorship scheme for all new practitioners. We have strong links with the local HEI’s and provide you with access to a range of post registration modules and pathways including specialist paediatric theatre modules.

With an innovative workforce development strategy we offer a clear pathway from band 2 through to band 8b.

Do something amazing with your skills and experience, come and join the land of remarkable people!

As a dedicated paediatric major trauma centre and regional neonatal surgical centre we provide a 24/7 emergency service and staff are required to participate in this cover.

Being part of Alder Hey can provide you with staff benefits including Lease Car Scheme, Smoking Cessation Services, Childcare and Family Support and Electronics home salary sacrifice scheme.

Full time and part time positions considered.  We will also consider Job shares.
