Core hours with 1:5 on call

The post is based at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in Harlow with satellite activity at St Margarets Hospital, Epping.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a young, dynamic and expanding department. The posts will involve core urology with a dedicated subspecialty interest. This post is for a candidate with an interest in Prostate Cancer Diagnosis with the ability to undertake both TRUS Biopsies and Transperineal Template Biopsies.

Our Trust has recently developed a link with Cambridge University Hospital to help serve our paediatric urological population. Should a candidate have an interest in paediatric urology, then this may be facilitated.

Additionally, the key responsibilities of the posts will be the development and delivery of urological elective and emergency care, supported by the existing urology team. The post holder will be expected to be closely involved in the management of the unit and education and training of the junior doctors.

Harlow offers excellent travel links by road, rail and air travel as the town is situated just off the M11 motorway, the train station Harlow Town is one of the stops for the Stansted Express train going from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport where international flights depart to various destinations. There are good quality schools, rural or urban living, Olympic sporting facilities and excellent shopping centres within the locale.

Qualifications:

For this role you will need the following academic qualifications:

 

    • MB BS or equivalent

 

    • FRCS UROL or equivalent

 

    • MD thesis or equivalent desirable

 

    • On Specialist Register
