We are looking to appoint an Oral and Maxilliofacial Surgeon to be based at PAH. The appointment will support all departmental clinical and non-clinical activities. Specifically the post-holder will carry out general OMFS clinical activity, which will include clinics and theatre lists. They will also have a defined role within the provision of skin cancer treatment at PAH. This role is both supportive to the present consultant staff and also will allow further/greater development of the service. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the development and expansion of a local/regional integrated network for skin cancer management.

The post will also involve management of trauma and emergency patients at PAH. The role will therefore include an element of on-call duty. The non-clinical responsibilities include supporting the trust in terms of its contractual obligations to its commissioners and in achieving the trust targets.

The successful candidate should be a capable surgeon with head and neck oncology and microvascular experience. The successful candidate needs to be flexible and enthusiastic, possessing good communication skills and a positive attitude.

They will be expected to support and instruct the decision making of junior colleagues from an educational and care delivery point of view.
