Patient Experience and Database Administrator/Medical Secretary within the Pain Team

 

Cross site post, working at Fulham Road, Chelsea and Down Road, Sutton
Band 3(+ additional high cost area supplement)
Full time: 37.5 hours per week

 

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe and a leader in the field of cancer care with a successful record of innovation in nursing care, pioneering new treatments and the development of anti-cancer drugs.

 

The post holder will be required to work cross site at both our Chelsea and Sutton sites. The Patient Experience and Database Co-ordinator role provides an invaluable patient focused service, working within the clinical units of the hospital for patients, consultant surgeons and physicians. The main responsibilities will consist of inputting pain proformas on the Trust computer system (EPR), undertaking and supporting patients with data entry from questionnaires using tablets in our outpatient setting and maintaining accurate data entry and extraction onto the pain database.
In addition the successful candidate will provide high quality medical secretary support to our dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist team, with support from the Pain team Medical PAs.

 

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and experienced, who enjoys patient contact and working in a multi-disciplinary environment to support the delivery of a quality service. You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and have an organised approach to work.

 

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for a dependable and highly adaptable individual who is able to work independently and has the ability to fit in quickly as part of a team.
This role is an excellent opportunity to develop an understanding of clinical research and the management of all aspects of cancer pain, whilst developing administrative skills in a fast moving and dynamic department within the NHS.

 

Data entry and patient focused experience in a relevant medical setting is required for this post. Excellent attention to detail, experience in meeting deadlines and knowledge of medical terminology are desirable.
