You will encounter patients from 0 to 18 years with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions including acute infections, trauma, neurological conditions and cancer. We are looking for a keen and committed pharmacist with excellent communication skills, clinical pharmacy knowledge and hospital pharmacy experience to join the pharmacy team.

You must have either a postgraduate clinical pharmacy diploma or have completed the first year of the postgraduate clinical pharmacy diploma and be working towards completion of the second year. In addition to you clinical pharmacy role, your duties would include undertaking individual patient medication reviews, attending multi-professional ward rounds, monitoring and developing guidelines, participating in audit and research activities and providing training and support to nursing and medical colleagues. Training and support will be provided by senior colleagues including a local training package in this specialty. You will work within an established team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Your duties would also include participation in the full range of services provided by the pharmacy team including clinical pharmacy, dispensary services, aseptic services and to support and act as a role model for junior pharmacists. Participation in weekend, Bank Holiday and emergency duty rota is required.

The trust has undergone an exciting major re-development and modernisation with the recent opening of fantastic new ward facilities in a brand new wing. We provide dedicated healthcare for children and young people, including highly specialised health care such as neurosurgery, oncology and Haematology (including Bone Marrow transplants), endocrinology, specialist orthopaedics, neonatal surgery, metabolic disease, gastroenterology, respiratory diseases, intensive care, cystic fibrosis and neurology.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£49). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
