What will I be doing in my new role?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Pharmacist to join our award winning Education and Training team where patient experience and safety is at the heart of everything we do.

 

The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of the Pharmacy Education and Training Programme both within Pharmacy and the Trust to medical, nursing staff and allied healthcare professionals.

 

There will be a specialist clinical commitment with this role working within our experienced and caring clinical team according to your previous clinical experience.

 

As part of the Pharmacy Senior Team the post holder will have strategic oversight of Pharmacy Education and Training and will provide leadership to our established Education and Training Team whose work has been recognised by the Trust by receiving a Trust award in 2018 for Excellence in Education and Training.

 

The Trust has close links with the University of Hertfordshire and you will spend one day each week as Academic Link Pharmacist working at the university site.

 

Significant experience of working in a hospital pharmacy in an education and training role is essential.

 

What about the department I will join?

 

We have recently completed a Pharmacy Transformation Programme to include refurbishment of the department and adoption of the latest technology to include a Chemotherapy EPMA system, automated robotic and controlled drug dispensing and e-Rostering.

 

You will also participate in EDC, late night, weekend and bank holiday rotas.

 

We are committed to personal development and you will also have the opportunity to undertake further training relevant to the role.

Bedford Hospital is situated in a beautiful part of the UK in the county of Bedfordshire. It now provides a wide range of services which include beds for Care of the Elderly, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Neonatal, Obstetrics, Oncology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Vascular Surgery, Breast Surgery and Urology. A modern Accident and Emergency Department includes a 6-bedded observation ward. The Critical Care Complex provides both High Dependency and Intensive Care beds to a maximum capacity of 12 beds.
