The Project Officer is a key role in the provision of project support to the national Health Improvement team in particular the Physcial Activity programme.

As Project Officer, you will be required to manage and co-ordinate projects or elements of overarching work streams within the Physical Activity Team.

The Moving Healthcare Professionals Programme,in partnership with Sport England, is a multi-component programme that aims to increase awareness, skills and change clinical practice of health professionals in the promotion of physical activity to patients at risk of, or with, health conditions. Due to the success of the partnership in the first phase (ended March 2019) and further developments in this space such as the Global Action Plan on Physical Activity, the NHS long term plan and the DHSC green paper on prevention PHE and Sport England have expanded the scope of the programme for Phase 2 which will focus on building on the successes of phase one by focusing on scaling up and sustaining the work at a systematic level.

The role will be supporting the management, planning and contract managing of specific MHPP phase 2 and requires exceptional organisation, information management and multitasking skills. The candidate will be working alongside an extremely busy team supporting a large programme which spans across the organisations directorates, the PHE Centres, other Government Departments and external stakeholders. This role will report to the Physical Activity Project Manager.

The location of the post is at our London office (Wellington House), however flexible working arrangement will be considered. The post may require travel to other areas in the Country that are involved in the specific pilot workstreams.

This is an exciting new opportunity for someone with proven senior administration and organisational skills and experience to join an exciting programme. We would ideally like someone who has worked in / or has an interest in the Physical Activity field, experience of delivering health improvement initiatives in a clinical setting are highly desirable. The candidate will be highly organised, have exemplary communication skills and have project support management experience – these are all essential.
