Band 7/8a Clinical Psychologist advertEnfield Down, Honley and Lyndhurst, Elland

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified ClinicalPsychologist to work inthe Calderdale and Kirklees Rehabilitation and Recovery Service. We are currently in the process of change through an exciting Transformation programme giving the successful candidate the chance to influence how the service develops.

Currently there are two residential units, Lyndhurst in Elland, Calderdale and Enfield Down in Honley Huddersfield. Lyndhurst is a 14 bedded in-patient unit and Enfield Down is a 27 bedded in-patient unit. We provide care and treatment to individuals with a primary diagnosis of psychosis and some with a dual diagnosis of substance misuse. The successful candidate will be a key member of the senior multi-disciplinary team, which also includes occupational therapy and medical and nursing input.

The successful candidate will be expected to play an integral role within the current Service Transformation review which seeks to establish the future model of care for rehabilitation and recovery in Kirklees and Calderdale. In addition the post will involve providing clinical input to the teams, including offering group supervision regarding complex cases; the provision of psychological input to the service users care plans and offering individual assessment, formulation and interventions with service users within a multi-disciplinary context. As a member of the multidisciplinary team you will be involved in: assessment of referrals, including functioning, risks and rehabilitation needs; supporting service user’s transition into the service and onwards into the community; engaging in service development projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a specialist interest in Rehabilitation and Recovery who wishes to make a real difference to the clinical team and service users.

We are particularly looking for individuals who are experienced, innovative, flexible and creative who have experience of working with adults with complex psychological problems (including psychosis) in a secondary care mental health setting and are able to work in a solution focused way. You should be committed to working collaboratively with other disciplines to develop and support integrated packages of care.Experience of working with individuals with complex mental health needs in a community or inpatient setting is essential.

We run a preceptorship programme so would be happy to receive applications from band 7 clinical psychologists looking for the opportunity for career development. All applicants should be eligible for chartered status with the BPS and membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology as well as being registered through the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist.

We are a collaborative, committed and supportive BDU with priority being given to practitioners through professional support, clinical supervision, line management and continuing professional development.
