About the position:

We’re delighted to announce we’re currently recruiting for our new vacancy – a portfolio GP with a special interest in Geriatrics.

 

Our new portfolio positions allows you to mould a career in your preferred speciality by undertaking a salaried position encompassing a range of roles in different settings, including general practice, hospitals and integrate urgent care.

This new position is a new position offers GP, at any stage in their career the change to expand their portfolio with the added benefits of having just one employer. This is collaboration between Devon Doctors, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and NHS Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group.

This position allows you to do clinical sessions in a variety of areas including general practice, acute and urgent care. As part of your portfolio role you will be provided protected learning time- allowing you to complete relevant qualifications and continuously develop your personal and professional development.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the care of older people across acute and community settings, both in and out-of-hours, while completing a diploma in geriatric medicine. You’ll work with teams in local emergency departments and acute medical units to assess and treat frail older people, liaising with general practice as well as health, housing, and social care agencies to ensure a holistic approach to elderly care while helping ease the pressures on hospital admissions and the wider healthcare community.

Who are we looking for?

You must have completed your GP training (if you are due to finish please do get in touch) and you must be willing to put our ethos of “putting patients first” into practice.
