Band 5 Nurses Required


Vascular nursing involves caring for patients with disease of the arteries and veins. As a Band 5 registered nurse on our renowned vascular department at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust you will be providing preoperative and postoperative care for these patients. Vascular patients have complex care needs and there is opportunity to develop both surgical and medical nursing skills.


St Thomas’ hospital is situated in the heart of central London immediately opposite the Houses of Parliament. The hospital has excellent transport links and an on-site nursery, along with a wide range of further innovative programmes and resources to help you enjoy a healthy lifestyle and maintain a great work/life balance.


The vascular facility, one of the largest in Europe, has 50 beds across two ward and a high dependency area providing high quality care for patients with vascular disease. The department is the hub of the south east Thames vascular network providing emergency and elective vascular services to people living in south east London and Kent. The vascular department is also national tertiary referral centre for complex aortic disease specialising in endovascular and open surgery for aneurysms and aortic dissection.


The successful applicant will be part of a large multi-disciplinary team. The team includes surgeons, radiologists, physician’s, podiatrist’s physiotherapists and 10 nurse specialists who work cohesively to provide expert care for these patients.
