Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Adults)

Band 6

Salary: £30,401-£37,267 pro rata per annum

Hours: Various Hours Available

Location: Acute Hospitals/ Brian Injury Team/Community in Gloucestershire

Due to a recent review of the provision for Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) across the county, we now have a number of full and part time positions available in a variety of locations.

We have a number of sessions available which allow a degree of flexibility in creating your perfect job in the beautiful county of Gloucestershire.

We have sessions available in the Specialist Brian Injury Team, or working on the acute wards or out in the community. These can be combined, in either full or part time posts for the preferred candidate.

The posts are ideal for individuals who wish to grow and develop into an autonomous role yet still be regularly supported by a senior colleague who will work with you to develop service provision You will be encouraged and supported to develop your skills and knowledge in the specialist area. You will be expected to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to optimise patient’s rehabilitation.

You will need to be able to work independently on a day to day basis, using your skills to make decisions about caseloads and their management. It is important that you build upon the good working relationships and promote the SLT service locally.

The successful post holders will have the opportunity to work with a SLT assistant and rehabilitation assistants as required.

You will have peer support and receive line management from a senior SLT within the team. Training and CPD opportunities are actively encouraged.

Gloucestershire Care Services support the professional development of its staff. The SLT department operates regular peer review meetings for developing staff, journal club and regular CPD and departmental meetings are held with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills. Full induction and training opportunities will be given for this post.
