Nestled in the heart of Cheshire, with green fields bordering the site on every side, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust staff benefit from great work, home, education and leisure opportunities. The Trust has three sites, including its headquarters at Leighton Hospital in Crewe - 35 minutes from Manchester or Liverpool and less than an hour away from Birmingham, yet only half an hour away from the Peak District. The Trust has a formal clinical partnership with its nearby University Hospital, benefits from local universities in Crewe (Manchester Metropolitan University) and in Chester.

The Trust was rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC from its October 2014 full inspection, has a good reputation for research and benefits from some of the very latest clinical facilities; these include Critical Care, neonatal intensive care, a new suite of state-of-the-art theatres and a dedicated day case Treatment Centre. The Trust has invested significantly in recent years in clinical expansion and hospital mortality is ‘as expected’ across the range of indicators.

Applications are invited for a Locum Specialty Doctor to cover up to 12 months maternity at Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe with a weekly clinic at Northwich. This is a replacement post to cover maternity with an exciting opportunity to join a growing Ophthalmology department, The successful applicant will provide support in delivering general ophthalmology and some sub-specialty services under the guidance of a consultant Ophthalmologist and be an active member of the team.

The successful candidate will be based at Leighton Hospital; Crewe in theLeighton Hospital Department, in the Ophthalmology department, outpatient clinics will also take place at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich.

The successful applicant must have full registration with the GMC and continue to hold a License to Practice.
