IPS EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST

We have an exciting opportunity available within a brand new service for NAViGO as an IPS Employment Specialist.

IPS is the leading model to help people with severe mental illness into work. It is a model of supported employment, which means it aims to help people find paid jobs within just weeks of being referred to the service. Then it continues to work with both employer and employee to sustain the job placement for as long as possible, or to help the client into a different job.

 

As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will tailor your support to each individual, ensuring each person has the best chance of achieving their job aspirations. Clients on your caseload will be offered intensive support in finding and keeping employment. The role will involve:-

 

  • Managing a case load of around 20-30 people

  • Building relationships with our clinical teams

  • Creating relationships/negotiating with local employers on job opportunities

  • Source jobs through tailored searches/contacts within local employers

  • Supporting Service Users on your caseload to retain employment

You will be a dynamic individual who is well organised, personable, approachable, non-judgemental and have excellent communication skills. Ideally you will have a Diploma in Employment Services or equivalent experience. You will be able to build a rapport with people at all levels and confidently approach/negotiate local employers to secure job offers through the IPS programme. You will be a great listener and a real people-person who shows passion and a positive attitude in their role.
