Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist

Band 7

At Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust we believe that an essential ingredient to achieving our mission of being outstanding for our patients, our communities and each other is to be an organisation that is truly inclusive, celebrates diversity and eliminates discrimination.

That’s why we aim to be a leading organisation, which is recognised locally, regionally and nationally, for promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (E,D&I) for our patients and our workforce, focusing on the 9 Protected Characteristics and those with carer responsibilities.

We want to create a positive culture where all our patients will experience outstanding care which meets their specific needs, with a workforce where no-one will feel compelled to conceal or play down elements of their identity for fear of stigma, where people can be authentic and their unique perspective, experiences and skills seen as a valuable asset to the Trust.

Knowledge and experience of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda and legal requirements with the Public Sector and ideally within the NHS is required, but a willingness to meet a challenge, be flexible and demonstrate the Trust values is really important to us.

The post holder will be the subject matter expert for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the Trust and this is a great opportunity to show and develop your passion and expertise in this field. The successful candidate will be central to the Trust delivering it’s four E,D&I aims, which are:-

Better Health Outcome for All

We will work to reduce health inequalities and ensure that our services meet the needs of all our patients.

Improved Patient Access and experience

We will provide equal access to our services and improve the experience of our patients with protected characteristics.

Empowered, engaged and well support staff

We will build and maintain a diverse and representative workforce that is empowered, engaged and supported to demonstrate inclusive behaviours.

Inclusive leadership at all levels

We will work to ensure that the Trust has inclusive and diverse leadership across all levels of the workforce.

The successful candidate will be a great communicator, able to build relationships and use their interpersonal skills to present a professional attitude at all times. You will need to be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects at the same time.

The HR&OD team is a great place to work, we are fortunate to be able to provide a professional service to the Trust and our aim is to add value to patient care through helping the organisation to value and support its staff.

As part of the HR&OD team you will be supported to develop your skills and increase your knowledge. You will be surrounded by experienced HR & OD professionals who will provide guidance and help when you need it but will allow you to shine and grow in your role.
