£24,214 - £30,112 per annum pro rata

Are you interested in developing your Occupational Therapy skills across a variety of specialities? Are you an OT student due to qualify or looking to develop skills in a new area of work or needing to complete a return to practice placement. We have a perfect opportunity for you.

We currently have an opportunity for you to join the Occupational Therapy Junior rotation across Acute Medicine (Respiratory and Rehabilitation), Orthopaedics, Neurology Team (Acute, Rehabilitation and Early Supported Discharge) and the Community Health and Social Care Teams. All these teams link into other specialist services including outpatient Occupational Therapy (Rheumatology and Hand Therapy), Hospice and the Supported Discharge services.

Each rotation is for six months.

You will be working with an integrated team of therapists across the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy profession. The recent developments to the rotations that have taken place are the introduction to rotational posts across Health and Social Care in the Community and the opportunity to work on the new refurbished Stroke Ward providing experience across Acute and Rehabilitation.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have sound core Occupational Therapy skills, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards team working.

This post will enable you to consolidate and build on graduate skills and academic knowledge by participating in Continual Professional Development and other training opportunities. The post holder will receive regular clinical supervision and participate in a preceptorship programme. This also includes the opportunity to attend the Trust’s biannual OT Professional Forum which involves Occupational Therapists from across acute, community, social care, mental health, learning disability, outpatient and paediatric services, coming together to network, learn and share best practise

The post holder will be expected to work occasionally at the weekends.

** As this post is in a shortage occupation code it qualifies for the Trust’s Recommend a Friend Scheme, please find further information on the attached link**

Note: Applicants shortlisted for this post will be contacted by the recruiting manager via email to arrange and confirm interview details, times and location.

Our values guide everything we do. At all times, we aim to:

  • Demonstrate compassion
  • Strive for excellence
  • Respect diversity
  • Act with integrity
  • Listen and support others

Our teams of care professionals work with patients and their families to support peoples’ independence, health and wellbeing. We provide support to avoid hospital admissions, and if an admission is necessary, we try to make each patient’s stay in hospital as short and effective as possible before working with them on a safe discharge home.

In our most recent staff survey, our staff voted us in the top 10% of NHS provider organisations to work for and we also came out as the top provider in the South West for our overall results. Our patients (through the Friends and Family Test) regularly report an average of over 95% satisfaction with our services.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. For further information and to self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship, please visit the UK Border Agency website. Note: we will be unable to obtain Tier 2 sponsorship for Bank positions.

Please note that we may close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applicants.
