Healthcare Assistants wanted!

Do you enjoy working with people? Have a passion for helping others, Have problem solving skills and are not afraid of a challenge? If you also have an interest in Mental Health, this could be the job for you.

As a healthcare assistant, no day is ever dull. This is a job that can make a real difference to people’s lives, and it takes all sorts of different people to make up a staff team.

We are running an event to recruit into our Mental Health Inpatient services for both Callington Road, and the Southmead sites. If you wish to express an interest we invite you to apply, so that you can visit our service and we can talk through what the job involves.

You will also be able to meet some of the current staff and service users. This is an opportunity to ask questions, but also to come to an interview. We have jobs on many of the wards, so we hope to recruit suitable candidates.

The interview day will be at The Callington Road Site which is on the edge of Bristol and just in front of a beautiful nature reserve. The site itself is purpose built and therapeutic. We also have jobs at The Southmead site, where there is a strong dynamic team.

Our inpatient services include Women’s, Men’s and Mixed sex services. We also have PICU services and later life services, to name a few. A background in Mental Health is desirable but not an essential part of the criteria.

We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, evidence-based individualised care. The emphasis is on providing a therapeutic environment, allowing individuals to recover in a safe and supportive environment

Working on a Ward is an opportunity to work as part of a friendly team and there are always more experienced staff to call upon for advice. There is ongoing training and an induction programme and we support staff to take up opportunities as they arise.

If you are new to the NHS, Welcome! you will be entitled to all the usual NHS benefits and we can provide you with details of these on the day.

Staff will be required to work a rotational 24 hour shift pattern and will need to complete PMVA training which requires some physical mobility.

The Interviews will be held in small informal groups on Thursday 2nd May.

Refreshments will be also be provided.
