We have a vacancy for a permanent full time radiotherapy technologist, based at Cheltenham General Hospital. This position is suitable for an enthusiastic team player with experience within medical physics, who is interested in developing a career as a healthcare science practitioner in radiotherapy physics. Ideally, the candidate will be on the register of clinical technologists or expect to be eligible to apply to that register within 6 months.

Suitable applications without Clinical Technologist Training but with a degree in Physics are welcomed. This appointment would involve the successful applicant participating in an approved Training Programme which may combine workplace learning with block study placements

Cheltenham Oncology Centre has a full range of radiotherapy services; 4 multimode Linear Accelerators, a KV treatment unit, a CT Scanner, and HDR brachytherapy. Planning is carried out using the Pinnacle treatment planning system. A satellite unit opened at Hereford in 2014 which is equipped with a Varian Truebeam Linac. Planned developments over the next year include the replacement of an existing Linac. The post-holder will be expected to work on all sites and should hold a valid UK driving licence.

The hospital is close to the centre of Cheltenham, which is a pleasant Cotswold town surrounded by beautiful countryside.
