Our Emergency department provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with emergency conditions, serious injuries or illnesses as well as minor injuries. It is a very busy department, with 78,000 patients being treated in the past 12 months. We are looking for both experienced Adults and Children’s Staff Nurses to join our dynamic and supportive team to further develop our services and provide the highest standards of patient care.

As an Adults or Children’s Nurse you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a group of patients within the Emergency Department. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to meet patients’ needs, ensuring patient safety and dignity is maintained at all times.

The successful applicant will be required to work in all areas within the department and demonstrate a professional manner, clinical expertise with good communication skills in all aspects of their work. You must be comfortable working in a busy environment juggling the different demands typical of a nursing role like this and must possess the courage to do what is right for our patients.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from your first pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be split and recovered over the first 2 pay.

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from payment.
