North Somerset Community Partnership (NSCP) became a staff led Social Enterprise on October 1st 2011 with an ethos of delivering high quality innovative services driven by the needs and choices of the local population.

We work in partnership with the Local Authority, General Practitioners and voluntary organisations to provide a wide range of community health services to the people of North Somerset. We are providing NHS services and this will always remain at the heart of what we do but we also have the freedom to bid for other contracts and extend our service to meet the needs of the community.

North Somerset Community Partnership is delighted to advertise the new posts of Band 5 Community Public Health Nurse - Health visiting. We are seeking to recruit highly motivated and innovative practitioners for the new role which will sit in the 0-5 Year Service. The post holders will be Paediatric or Midwifery Trained with considerable post registration experience and will work closely with the SCPHN/Health Visitor to fulfil the potential of this role.


The post holder will be supported by qualified health visitors and given a package of training to support the work they will undertake. The applicant should demonstrate Knowledge/experience of in the field of public health and child development of new born babies and children.


The service delivers the 4 -5 -6 elements of the Healthy Child Programme. The Community Staff Nurses will be working in skill mix teams that are structured to deliver core and targeted health services to the families of North Somerset. Applicants are required to also have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies, excellent communication skills and a passion for working with children and families.


In turn, we offer excellent professional development opportunities to progress onto the SCPHN apprenticeship; with additional formal clinical and safeguarding supervision, annual appraisal plus a range of support via our employee assist programme.

NSCP has been awarded Employing Authority status for the NHS Pension Scheme as an Independent Provider. NSCP has been approved under the closed scheme. This means that people joining NSCP on or after 1 August 2014 are eligible to join if within 12 months prior to your start date with NSCP you have been employed by an organisation where you were eligible for the NHS pension, even if you’re not currently making contributions.


If you are not eligible for the NHS Pension scheme, you will be eligible for membership of our Legal & General defined contribution Group Pension Scheme. From 1st April 2015 if you have not elected to join either scheme, you will be automatically enrolled into the Group Pension Scheme at 5% and receive employer contributions if you: earn £10,000 or more a year (£833 a month); are aged 22 or over; and; are under State Pension age.
