The Hounslow Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative therapist Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join the School Age team.

Our School Age team provides a range of services. These include:

    • Spot Commission Service (buy in service for schools)
    • school based special needs service that provides both assessment and therapy in both mainstream schools and some Hounslow based Special Schools
    • school based consultative assessment service for both mainstream primary and secondary aged students
    • speech / fluency clinic

The position provides opportunities to work within the Spot Commission service as well as a specialist area that is negotiable depending on service need and the therapist’s preference.

The Spot Commission team works across a range of school settings managing a caseload from initial assessment, therapy to discharge. Therapists deliver therapy in 1:1, small group and classroom settings to manage the needs of the caseload.

Alongside the lead SLTs you will deliver therapy, train others and help to shape a developing service while enhancing your own clinical skills. You will contribute to service specific projects and have the opportunity to follow through your own ideas with the support of the Specialist Band 7s and lead SLT.

You will become part of a developing service that provides high quality speech and language therapy for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs as well as eating and drinking difficulties.
