Clinical Decisions Nurse

 

 

 

At East and North Herts CCG we are looking for a proactive individual with advanced communication skills to work with our committed team in the Nursing and Quality directorate.

 

 

 

We are looking for candidates with a commitment to providing a high level service through excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills.

 

 

 

There is a well established process where funding requests are received by the CCG for funding approval for a number of elective treatments and procedures which are not normally funded. The clinical decisions nurse will support the triage process and decision making of these requests to ensure that all requests are reviewed in line with the CCG's clinical guidance and pathways. The post holder will be required to make daily decisions on funding requests based on a range of clinical information, so confidence, and the ability to review information methodically is important. Excellent clinical knowledge and research skills are vital. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will also be required as well as a professional approach.

 

The post holder will also provide Management and clinical leadership to the clinical funding team this includes liaising with doctors and public health consultants to ensure funding request are processed in line with KPI's.

 

 

 

The post holder will also get involved in supporting some of the work of the wider Quality team such as assisting with reviewing serious incidents and undertaking monitoring visits to a variety of care providers, so an ability to be flexible and take on new and interesting challenges is essential.

 

 

 

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum and maximum payment per annum (pro rata where applicable) in line with Agenda for Change.

 

A full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Single Equality Act 2010).
