This role is offered on an 18 months fixed term working arrangement.

Full or part time applications will be considered up to a minimum of 21 hours per week.

Reporting to the Head of Projects the Energy and Environmental Manager has a crucial role in the development, delivery and oversight for improving energy efficiency and waste reduction across the Trust’s estate and its business practices. This post will work across the Estates and Facilities Departments and will also develop a close working relationship with the Head of Facilities Management.

The role will lead in the application of an estates and facilities energy and environment management plan, monitoring the impact of change and reducing energy, environmental and utility costs in addition carbon emission reduction.

The post holder will actively maintain a detailed overview of all estates waste management, energy & utility projects, initiatives and changes within the Trust. They will coordinate the projects, manage interdependencies and ensure realisation of projected benefits. The role will coordinate all internal activities and operations to ensure integrity and coherence of the program of work.

The post holder will also be a key lead in capital related energy and utility reduction schemes and input into the estates CIP plan and also in the education, promotion and engagement of good energy and environmental practices.

All energy and sustainability work will tie in with the Trust Estates and Facilities

This means that we reserve the right to change the hours detailed in this advert to full time or part-time to meet the service requirements. Please note that the salary stated is based on full time working and will be pro rata for part time working.

For Agenda for Change posts based within the Dartford, Gravesham & Swanley areas of Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust also receive 5 per cent high cost area allowance on top of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,000 and a maximum of £1,733. Please note that this element does not apply to bank positions.
