Medical Short Stay Unit is looking for a compassionate and caring Assistant Practitioner to join their bright and friendly team.

The Assistant Practitioner will be expected to provide high standards of effective patient care. They will work as a member of the clinical nursing team, alongside a Registered Nurse or other qualified Allied Healthcare Professional, within Estuary ward.

The Assistant Practitioner will provide a mix of both general and specific care to patients and will be proficient and competent to work at a higher competency level than a Senior Healthcare Assistant. These duties will be delegated by the responsible qualified practitioner.

The post holder will be able to work under both the direction and the indirect supervision of a registered nurse.


The Unit:
Estuary Ward - This Short stay medical unit provides comprehensive, high quality care to patients with a wide variety of medical conditions who can be treated and discharged within 24 to 72 hours.

Our aim is to provide a supportive environment fostering person-centered care to enable patients to reach their optimum level of health and independence. We treat a wide variety of acute medical conditions from across all specialities, including respiratory cardiac and neurological conditions as well as other conditions, which may require careful observation, intravenous drugs or skilled assessment.

On appointment: 27 days
