SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Band 6

Salary: £28,050- £36,644

Hours: 37.5

Location: Cheltenham and North Cotswolds Integrated Community Teams

An exciting new opportunity has been created for an individual to join our Integrated Community Teams working across both Cheltenham and the North Cotswolds. The ICTs consist of Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Reablement who work closely with our co-located Adult Social Care colleagues.

We work in partnership with GPs, community hospitals, mental health services and voluntary organisations to enable people to live as independently as possible at home. The ethos of the teams is a Reablement, person-led approach to recovery and self-management, to ensure we offer care close to home, thus avoiding unnecessary admissions to bed based services.

We are an active player in the development of the local Sustainability & Transformation Plan entering an exciting time as we work with our partners to develop local place based models of care.

The post will be supported by mobile working practices and hot desking work bases in both Cheltenham and Bourton on the Water. It is a multifaceted role with a varied caseload incorporating both triage and urgent response of patients referred via the referral centre on a rota basis, and patients from the community waiting list. The post holder will also be responsible for the delegation of work to other members of the physiotherapy team within the ICT, as well as holding a small caseload. This is an ideal opportunity for a Band 5 therapist wanting a development opportunity or a Band 6 looking for a new challenge who would like to work in new ways across the urban and rural communities of Gloucestershire.

The successful candidate will be able to lead the physiotherapy staff by demonstrating an organised and enthusiastic approach to integrated ways of working including multidisciplinary team working. They will work alongside other Band 6 staff in support of the Team Managers to develop new ways of working to better meet the needs of the population of the localities.

When applying for this position, please ensure that in your supporting statement, you make it clear as to how you meet the person specification especially the values and behaviours expected of all colleagues. This will figure largely in our short-listing criteria and the overall selection process.
