We currently have a vacancy for a Band5 Community Staff Nurse. The Locality covers the area in the North of South Gloucestershire with our District Nursing teams based in Yate, Filton, Thornbury and Patchway.

The District Nurse team is a community nursing team providing a flexible nursing service to patients in their own homes, The service we offer covers7 days a week, including bank holidays, so a flexible approach to shifts is essential.

We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic nurses to join teams who are friendly, supportive and hardworking and have a real commitment to delivering excellent patient centred care, as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, to patients in their own homes.

We will help you to develop your clinical skills to meet the growing demands of complexities, within patient care, faced by a modern and ever evolving district nursing team. We welcome interest from experienced or newly qualified nurses alike who have commitment and passion for delivering holistic nursing care within a residential setting.

You will work closely with the team leader and need to have a good understanding of community nursing and the ability to deliver many clinical skills such as palliative care, wound care, safeguarding, management of complex patients, prevention of unnecessary admissions and assisting in the facilitation of early hospital discharges.

You will need excellent communication skills including negotiating, diplomacy and an ability to deal with sensitive issues.Part of therole will be toform excellent working relationships with all levels of staff including GP practices, the Community Rehab Team, Community Matrons, ECP’s and hospital services together with a wider multidisciplinary team and external services.

  • Community Experience desirable – students coming towards the end of their training are able to apply
