Consultant Cardiologist with an Interest in Echocardiography

10 PA contract

We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious Cardiologist with an interest in echocardiography to join our Cardiovascular Medicine service based at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary specialist team providing care for Cardiology patients.

The postholder will be involved in the Cardiology service provided at the Royal London Hospital including care of inpatients, Cardiology outpatients, the support of Physiologist led trans-thoracic echocardiography sessions and the further development of a trans-oesophageal echocardiography service. They will also be expected to join a proposed Cardiology consultant weekend rota.5 PAs of this job will be spent at the new Barts Heart Centre (at St Bartholomew’s Hospital) supporting advanced echocardiography.

Applicants should be eligible for full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the specialist register and possess a CCT in Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, or be within 6 months of obtaining it.
