For over four decades Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity have provided outstanding palliative care to its community and its services have made a huge impact on many families lives across Hampshire.

The journey towards end of life can be a complex one. Medical advances and changes in family lives mean that the care we provide to our patients and their families constantly evolves to meet the needs and expectations of our Community. For us to extend our services further to reach more people we need to recruit additional staff to support our outstanding services, here at the Hospice.

Head of Estates and Facilities 

(either based in Southampton or on the Isle of Wight, but must be able to work from either organisational base).

Salary circa £46,000 per annum (dependent on qualification/experience)

37.5 hours per week to be worked flexibly including on-call provisions

There isn't a more exciting time to join the Mountbatten Group as we look to the future to ensure our buildings and facilities support the needs of our current and future patients and their families and the generations to follow. Integral to this will be the Head Estates and Facilities, a new role covering both Mountbatten – Isle of Wight facilities and Countess Mountbatten – Southampton facilities.

About the Role

The Head of Estate and Facilities in conjunction with the Senior Management Team will play a crucial role in setting and establishing the strategic direction for estates and facilities for the Mountbatten Group.  The role will provide leadership to ensure the provision of a high quality, proactive and responsive service to meet organisational requirements.

The Head of Estate and Facilities will be the lead for Health and Safety, Risk Assessments and Environmental standards and provide regular assurance to the Senior Management Team on compliance with required legislation and best practice.

Lead the development of systems and processes to ensure the quality of Estates and Facilities services including housekeeping to meet Care Quality Commission (CQC) and other regulatory requirements.

About You

Our values lie at the heart of all we do, and your leadership style will reflect this.  Complemented by excellent organisational and project management skills.  You will have up-to-date knowledge of health and safety, risk management, environmental matters and the ability to provide technical expertise to Mountbatten.  You will have previous experience of managing a multi-site estates and facilities team within a Hospice or Health setting.

 You will be a qualified engineer or hold the equivalent estates related technical qualification, as well as be qualified in either NEBOSH/ISHO standard and hold or be studying towards the City & Guilds accredited Certificate in Legionella Control within Hot & Cold-water Systems.

You will have a full clean driving licence and have the use of a vehicle for business purposes as you will be required to travel to various locations across the Isle of Wight and Southampton.
