For over four decades Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity have provided outstanding palliative care to its community and its services have made a huge impact on many families lives across Hampshire.

The journey towards end of life can be a complex one. Medical advances and changes in family lives mean that the care we provide to our patients and their families constantly evolves to meet the needs and expectations of our Community. For us to extend our services further to reach more people we need to recruit additional staff to support our outstanding services, here at the Hospice.

Facilities Assistant

37.5 hours per week

Salary up to £21,00.00 per annum

We are seeking to recruit an experienced facilities assistant to join our new Estates and Facilities service here at Countess Mountbatten Hospice.  This role will not only provide you with development opportunities but also provide the successful individual with the opportunity to help develop our newly created Estates and Facilities service across the whole of the Mountbatten Group.. 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of facilities services to our Hospice and premises.  Your role will be both varied and and challenging which will see you involved in PAT, checking equipment, completing general maintenance, painting, plumbing, carpentry, etc.   

In return we will provide full training, regular supervision, training and development, plus a competitive salary and generous holiday provisions.

You will be required to provide on-call provisions as required by your manager, but generally you will be required to work your hours from Monday to Friday each week.

About you

You will be working with various individuals and teams, helping to deliver high quality facilities services. You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to make decisions that ensure the safe running of our services. You will be positive, committed and be prepared to deliver high standard services.

Ideally you will have up to date knowledge and awareness of health and safety, manual handling, PAT testing (although training will be provided), you will have strong computer skills and be an organised individual who can "get the job done".  

You will have strong carpentry, decorating, plumbing experience and skills and be able to work unsupervised supporting all areas of Countess Mountbatten Hospice. 

You will be keen to use your skills and experience to help us continue to deliver our services. We will help you to grown in the role, and will offer the right candidates opportunities for training and development.
