Cumbria Health on Call Ltd (CHoC) is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise providing out of hours (OOH) primary care to the population of Cumbria in addition to a number of in-hours services. The OOH element of service provides care, treatment and support over 68% of the week for some 500,000 people over a land mass of 2,613 square miles.

CHoC was rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission following an inspection in November 2016. The organisation also received excellent feedback from a survey conducted by Healthwatch Cumbria, an independent report into patient experiences of the CHoC service, and most recently CHoC was nationally recognised at the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards, winning the Excellence in Primary Care award.

CHoC are recruiting salaried GPs to work across Cumbria and are pleased to offer Tier 2 visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our General Practitioners form an integral part of the CHoC team, accountable to the Chief Executive and Medical Director. As a CHoC GP you will be responsible for providing high quality primary care services to the population of Cumbria in an out of hours setting. This post can be part time or full time with a range of options available in terms of location, hours and working patterns.

All CHoC Clinicians must adhere to the Cumbria Health on Call Code of Good Practice and keep updated with Cumbria Health on Call's policies and guidelines.

Our Clinicians work from sites 14 sites across Cumbria (including extended access locations) within our core bases at:

  • Kendal
  • Barrow
  • Whitehaven
  • Carlisle
  • Penrith
  • Wigton

SALARIED INDEMNITY SCHEME

CHoC are very aware of the situation all GPs are all facing in regard to the rising costs of Indemnity cover for out of hours work and the difficulties this has caused. CHoC are pleased to offer a contribution towards indemnity cover to all CHoC Salaried GPs.

A 40 hour per week salary of£115,624plus the maximum indemnity contribution where applicable of£15,000, would give a gross contracted pay of£130,624per annum.

  • A full-time post (40 hours per week) would be eligible for a maximum contribution of up to £15,000 p.a.
  • Variable pro rata contributions for part time contracts
