This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering or building officer professional with a background of operational facilities management, to work in a busy and challenging environment at a time of change. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading effective, operational estates management services across the Sheffield Children’s Hospital estates portfolio. Managing the day to day Operational Estates building and engineering service for multiple sites, to support the needs of patients, visitors and staff. Ensuring that the Trust operates within all relevant regulatory, advisory, compliance, financial and service delivery frameworks.

The post-holder shall co-ordinate the day to day planning and delivery of operational and maintenance functions, primarily, but not exclusively for engineering, services and buildings. Act as line manger to Operational Estates Managers / Supervisors and operational staff in Engineering, Building and general operational disciplines. Provide expert specialist and professional building and engineering expertise to estates staff, capital projects, senior managers, and external companies. The post holder will be required to attain the status of Authorised person managing key elements of the engineering infrastructure. Travel between sites for general work requirements, emergency work responses and meetings. Maintain up-to-date service contracts with specialist contractors or service providers that the Trust relies upon to provide a normal hours service and out of hours emergency service; this post requires participation on the on-call rota. You will need to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and team working skills. You will be suitably qualified and have a proven track record along with demonstrable experience in buildings / Engineering maintenance management.
