At the 2gether Trust we pride ourselves on providing care and support to those experiencing mental health and learning disabilities in order to Make Life Better 2gether. We are rated as good by the CQC.

We are currently setting up a Perinatal Mental Health Service and this is a great time to join us to help to develop the team. The service will run 5 days a week, Monday - Friday.

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed band 4 Nursery Nurse to become part of our new team providing consultation, advice, treatment, and liaison for women across Herefordshire during pregnancy and up to 1 year after birth. The team will prioritise women with serious and complex mental health needs including those who have experienced serious mental health episodes in the past and are currently well. We will also provide specialist consultation and liaison to a range of mental health, maternity and primary health services.

The focus of the role will be on:

  • Working in a recovery and inclusive way to support women, infants and families to achieve good mental health and parenting outcomes within the perinatal period.
  • Supporting mums to develop confidence with their babies in a range of practical skills.
  • Support and advising others in practical parenting to ensure healthy child development.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for improving care for women and their families.

Experience of working in the Perinatal Mental Health field is desirable and a keen interest in this specialist area is essential. We are looking for candidates who thrive under pressure as a key aspect of the role includes working with the team in positive risk taking.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.

Please be aware that all employees of the Trust who need to have a DBS check in order to carry out their role, will be required to repay the cost, which is currently £50 for an enhanced check or £32 for a standard check.
