An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Accredited Medicines Management Technicians to ensure the provision of an effective, integrated medicines management service to Seamoor Unit.

The successful candidates will lead in the provision and further development of efficient and cost effective systems for medicines management in Cancer Services, and support the implementation and maintenance of effective systems to ensure that billing of chemotherapy drugs is both accurate and complete.

The overall role and responsibilities of this post with be undertaken by two pharmacy technicians, working on the principles of a ‘job share’ arrangement. The successful candidates will be required to work at times within the Aseptic Suite within the Pharmacy department undertaking aseptic work.

The successful candidates should be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council and possess an Accredited Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician qualification or the commitment to obtain this qualification.

The successful candidate should be able to work efficiently within a team as well as managing their own workload. Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to be empathetic and handle difficult or emotional situations is essential. Experience of working within cancer services and as an Accredited checking Technician is desirable, as well as trained in aseptic work.
