Occupational Therapist – Permanent Post

AFC Pay Band 6

The Acute Care of the Elderly therapy team is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our integrated service.

As a closely integrated Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team, the post holder will help manage and co-ordinate the team to ensure an effective therapy service is provided to the four Care of the Elderly wards at Musgrove Park Hospital. This will include supporting and developing the Therapeutic Enabler role, recently introduced to facilitate ongoing, functional reablement throughout patients’ acute admission – and thus promoting wellbeing, independence and aiming to reduce length of stay.

Exciting developments within both the team itself and the wider trust, will provide the post holder with lots of opportunities to engage in service development projects. Furthermore, due to the progressive culture within the therapy team, the post holder will be encouraged and supported to implement ideas of their own that may improve staff and patient experience. Presenting an exciting mix of clinical and non-clinical opportunities, this post will suit individuals who are committed to their own professional development and are passionate about Occupational Therapies ever-increasing and influential role within the NHS.

We are seeking a full-time candidate, however, we would also consider individuals who wish to job-share.
