Mountain Healthcare Limited is pleased to offer an exciting oppportunity based in West Yorkshire.

Strategy & Safguarding Manager for Paediatrics and Vulnerable Adolescents.

Each region has its own dedicated SARC (sexual assault referral centre) which offers support and practical help to anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault. This service is co-funded by the Police and the NHS.

The Strategy and Safeguarding manager will have a pivotal role in working with the local safeguarding children’s boards to develop a paediatric pathway that will ensure the multi-agency safeguarding hubs work within Mountain Healthcare to ensure children and young people receive the correct service at the correct time. We anticipate that the strategy and safeguarding lead will be a part of all strategy meetings with both the police and social care and be able to advise with the aid of strict criteria the best route for the child or young person.

The aim of each strategy meeting will be to ensure that all elements of the child’s attendance at the SARC, whether this be acute or non-recent are discussed as part of a multi-agency arena. This will include but is not limited to, the presentation of the child, consent, parental responsibility, social circumstances, safeguarding concerns including the reason for attendance to the SARC, physical/emotional/psychological and social wellbeing and Gillick Competency.

The strategy and safeguarding manager will then be responsible for ensuring that information shared at the strategy meeting is shared with the forensic medical examiner seeing the child so that a holistic assessment can be undertaken.

The post holder will also ensure that work is undertaken with the local safeguarding boards to improve care and response to victims of child sexual exploitation, gang violence and child trafficking.

The successful applicants will be based within easy reach of The West Yorkshire SARC based in Dewsbury / Wakefield. This would require having access to a car.
