IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR APPLICANTS:

From 1st April 2019, the responsibility for providing healthcare services for people in the Bridgend County Borough Council area will move from Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board to Cwm Taf University Health Board. Therefore the above post and successful candidate may be transferred to Cwm Taf University Health Board as of 1st April 2019. The consultation and subsequent transfer of employees will take place in line with TUPE regulations and the NHS All Wales Organisational Change Policy. This is a fixed term post for 2 years, due to funding.

 

If you are an ABMU Health Board employee this post will only be offered on a secondment basis and you will need to have gained your line managers approval for the secondment prior to going to interview

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated individual to work as the Macmillan Cancer Information Services Co-ordinator across Singleton, Morriston and Neath Port Talbot Hospital sites. You will need to have experience in delivering information and support services and an understanding of how this will impact on the differing needs of people affected by cancer and will need to have appropriate counselling and support skills to support patients and carers at a difficult time.

 

The successful candidate would be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive Macmillan cancer information service across the Health Board to ensure people affected by cancer attending or visiting hospital can access timely and appropriate information and support tailored to their individual needs as a core component of the cancer patient pathway.

 

The CISS service offers everyone affected by cancer, guided access to an extensive range of quality assured information materials in a choice of formats. This includes verbal support to enable the person to understand the information fully and a brief overview of support and services available for cancer patients and their carers.

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
