Job Reference: 386-JF1553051

Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Yeovil District Hospital, Yeovil
£28,050 to £36,644 per an

We are a pioneering research active organisation and we are proud to be doing things differently; whether that be redefining the shape of the local health and care system through our innovative plans for integrated care, or developing new services such as our Frail Older Person’s Assessment Service and our Medically Fit for Discharge Ward.

As well as creating the future, we also know the importance of providing really good, safe, and caring services for our patients. Our iCARE ethos sets out the principles which every member of our staff works to, ensuring good communication, attitude, respect and care for the hospital environment. Our patients tell us we’re getting this right, with our Friends and Family Test results consistently above 95 per cent (patients ‘extremely likely’ or ‘likely’ to recommend us to their friends and family).

We are recruiting for Band 6 midwives to join our team based at Yeovil Hospital.

We are a small and friendly team working in a busy maternity unit (1500 deliveries), committed to providing the highest standards of individualised care to all our women and their families. We are proud to have been selected with our colleagues at Taunton as one of the national Better Births Early Adopter sites to develop maternity care across Somerset.

We provide both consultant and midwifery led care. We work in a model of integrated care which provides the opportunity for all midwives to rotate between the maternity unit and community setting.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated midwives with excellent communication skills and a strong philosophy of women centred care.

The successful candidates will be able to provide both high and low risk midwifery care and have achieved confidence and competence in homebirth, waterbirth and perineal suturing. Full and part time hours will be considered. There is a requirement to participate in an on call rota 2 -3 times per month.

Our unit may be small, but we have a big city attitude! We are proud of the service we deliver and we build strong relationships with our colleagues and families. If you feel you want to be part of our team where you can really influence change and work in a supportive workplace – then contact us.
