Are you a nurse? Passionate about dementia care?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, registered nurse to play an instrumental role in the delivery of Coventry & Rugby GP Alliance’s Admiral Nurse service, to meet the multiple, and often complex, needs of families affected by dementia.

Employed by Coventry & Rugby GP Alliance, this post is delivered in partnership with Dementia UK who will support you to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse through monthly clinical supervision and practice and professional development. You’ll not only become an integral part of this Admiral Nurse Team but also part of a wider network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant post-graduate courses and develop professionally, informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.

This is a part time, job-share post, working 25 hours per week. Together with an already established Admiral Nurse you will share leadership and line management of a team of Admiral Nurses providing specialist support to families and carers of people with dementia. Working collaboratively with other professionals, Admiral Nurses seek to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their carers. They use a range of interventions to help people live positively with the condition and develop skills to improve communication and maintain relationships.

Admiral Nursing is a challenging, demanding and often rewarding role. If you feel you have the skills and attributes to become an Admiral Nurse, please contact Nazish Khan on 024 7771 0980. For more information about Admiral Nurses you can also contact Jen Lovegrove from Dementia UK on 07747 372928.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
