Band 8B Lead Midwife

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Senior Midwife to undertake the role of Lead Midwife for Community, Caseloading and Birth Centre. This is a pivotal role in our Senior Management structure to drive forward innovative service change in partnership with the Head of Midwifery and General Manager.

The post holder is expected to be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and a wide knowledge of both acute and community midwifery service. You will work in collaboration with a dynamic team of Senior Midwives to shape the service within the Maternity Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual with inspirational leadership skills and an appetite for developing staff, service redesign and delivery of safe and excellent maternity care. The post holder will work with the senior management team, providing senior advice, support and strategic leadership, along with professional challenge.

You will have had demonstrable success in a management and a clinical role and established your credibility with multiple stakeholders. Most of all, you will be able to motivate and engage others to ensure that the services we provide supports the Trust values, as well as having a pioneering approach that is not afraid to challenge convention and traditional ways of working.
