Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

Our vision is to create a community where your healthy life chance does not depend on who you are or where you live. The Capital, Estates and Facilities Service Board are seeking to recruit a highly motivated senior specialist officer on fire safety to run the Fire Safety team.

The successful candidate will be able to provide professional, advice and support on fire safety you will be responsible for implementing a robust system of fire safety management and will provide expert advice on the application and interpretation of fire legislation, codes of practice and compliance with fire safety guidance, including the Department of Health Fire Code.

You and the fire safety team shall ensure all our premises are safe for patients, visitors and staff and your leadership and communications skills will develop a culture where all staff understands the importance of fire safety and the role which they must play. You will be passionate about ensuring the Health Board has an effective system of fire safety management and regularly report to Health & Safety and Fire Management meetings.

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
