Manchester Health and Care Commissioning is a single commissioner for health and social care, comprising a partnership between Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group and Manchester City Council.

This is a Greater Manchester Health Care and Partnership post. Manchester CCG or Greater Manchester Combined Authority will host the employment of this post on behalf of the Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP).

The GM Health and Social Care Partnership (GMH&SCP) is the body made up of the 33 NHS organisations and councils in the region, which is overseeing devolution and taking charge of the £6bn health and social care budget. Our vision is “to deliver the greatest and fastest possible improvement to the health and wellbeing of the 2.8 million people of Greater Manchester”.

To govern the transformation work, the Programme Coordination Group (PCG) has been established alongside a supporting GM Portfolio Management Office (PMO). As we move into the critical delivery phase of the transformation, the PMO’s role provides oversight, consideration of risks and assurance in understanding the progress being made across GM.

The PMO also provides support to the wider PMO community, as well as demonstrating how GM and localities are achieving the objectives for GM transformation programmes.

The project support officer post is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting an ambitious programme of reform to improve care and services for residents of GM. As a project support officer working across a wide range of workstreams, you will help ensure alignment and coordination of projects and programmes to enable delivery of key strategic objectives.You will assist with the development and implementation of complex, high value projects and initiatives, taking direct responsibility for administrative and project support.

Assisting with coordinating resources effectively, you will ensure that project documentation is prepared and shared in line with project timetables and deadlines. This will involve coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders whilst being expected to arrange, administer and represent the partnership at meetings and events.

You will need:

Knowledge of project management, administrative procedures and strong MS Office skills

  • Experience of working with a range of stakeholder groups to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Experience of working in a PMO environment and used to delivering work at pace to a high standard.
  • Experience of coordinating a range of complex projects and initiatives, so that regular reporting arrangements are in place so colleagues, programme boards and key stakeholders are kept informed.

The post is available either as a secondment or fixed term contract until 31st March 2020. If applying for a secondment, please ensure you have the support of your current manager for release on an early basis.

First stage assessments for long-listed candidates will take place on 6th March 2019; interviews for short-listed candidates will then take place on 12th March 2019.
